Another thing to keep in mind — while most people will grab the full, open-bloomed flowers, you should reach for those that are barely starting to open. Those blooms will last a lot longer. When you cut the plant, it’s important to do it at an angle, and make sure you sink this into a bucket of water right away. Otherwise, a gooey substance will seal the stem, preventing water from absorbing into the flower.
